Exception Notifications

When a workflow fails, MSPintegrations emails the addresses configured here. This is the only automatic warning you get that an automation stopped working, so configure at least one address.

Notification addresses apply to your whole account. One list covers Email Processing, Scheduled Tasks, Forms, and Workflows.

Add a Notification Address

  1. Open the user menu in the top bar and click Settings
  2. Under System, click Notifications
  3. Type an address in the Enter email address field
  4. Click Add

The address is saved immediately. Repeat for each recipient, up to 15 addresses.

To remove an address, click the remove button next to it.

What the Email Contains

Each notification identifies the run that failed, includes the error message returned by the outside system, and links directly to the history entry so you can open the full processing log in one click.

MSPintegrations sends one email per failed run. A workflow that retries a transient error does not generate an email while it is retrying, only if it eventually gives up.

Who Should Receive These

Send them somewhere a person actually reads. Common choices:

  • A shared technical address monitored by your automation owner
  • A distribution list for the team that maintains your workflows
  • A mailbox that creates tickets in your PSA, so failures land in your normal queue
Do not route notifications through a mailbox MSPintegrations processes

If you send exception notifications to an address that MSPintegrations itself processes, a failure while handling that notification can generate another notification. MSPintegrations detects its own exception reports and refuses to send a notification about them, which prevents a loop, but it also means those failures go unreported. Use an address outside your MSPintegrations mailboxes.

If No Addresses Are Configured

The Notifications page shows a warning when the list is empty, and no notification email goes out when a workflow fails. Failures are still recorded in history with a red Failed status, but nothing tells you to go look.
