Update Missive Task

The Update Missive Task action changes only the fields you select. Every unselected task field stays unchanged.

Configuration

FieldDescription
Missive ConnectionSelect the Missive connection to use.
Task IDEnter the task ID. Supports text expressions.
Fields to UpdateChoose at least one of Title, Description, State, Assignees, Team, or Due Date.
New TitleEnter a title up to 1,000 characters. Required when Title is selected. Supports text expressions.
New DescriptionEnter a description up to 10,000 characters. Leave blank to clear it. Supports text expressions.
New StateChoose To do, In progress, or Closed. Required when State is selected.
Assignee ChangeChoose Add assignees, Remove assignees, or Replace all assignees. Defaults to Add assignees.
AssigneesAdd one row per user. Select a user by name and email, or unlock the row to enter a user ID or text expression. Add and Remove require at least one row. Replace uses these rows as the complete assignee list, and an empty Replace list clears all assignees. The picker lists users across organizations because this action does not select an organization.
New TeamSelect a team, or leave blank to clear the team. Supports text expressions. The team list does not require an organization.
New Due Date (UTC)Enter an explicit UTC ISO 8601 timestamp, such as 2026-11-05T17:00:00Z. Leave blank to clear it. Supports text expressions.
Error HandlingChoose what happens if validation or a Missive request fails.

How Assignee Changes Work

Missive accepts the complete assignee list when a task changes. Replace all assignees sends the rows you configure directly. Add assignees and Remove assignees first read the current task, calculate the complete new list, and then update the task only when that list changes.

This read-then-write sequence has a timing limitation: if someone changes the task's assignees directly in Missive after the action reads the task but before it updates the task, the later action update can overwrite that change. Use Replace when you already know the complete list you want, and avoid simultaneous manual assignee edits when using Add or Remove.
